Nyami is a character first appearing in pop'n music. She is one of the main characters of the series along with Mimi, having appeared in every main series title to date and in several side games as well. Nyami is described as bright, funny, and playful, often going to amusement parks in her free time. She is a famous singer and TV show host, appearing in a variety of programs. Nyami met Mimi while auditioning for pop'n music and the two have been close friends ever since. She's also Timer's girlfriend, though she tries to keep it a secret from others. Nyami is currently voiced by Marina Goto. In pop'n music ラピストリア, Nyami carries the yellow diamond lapis.

Design

Nyami is a cream-colored cat with green eyes and long brown hair, styled into low-braided pigtails and straight-cut bangs. Over the course of the series she has worn a wide variety of outfits, from simple shirts and pants to elaborate costumes. Her outfits are usually coordinated with Mimi's.

pop'n music 4 song loading screen background

• Nyami shares her birthday with Jennifer.
  • Nyami's birthday is a goroawase play on part of her name, with 2/8 being read as "ni ya".
• According to Mimi and Nyami's Popper's Lounge interview, whether or not they have tails is a "super secret".
  • However, an image of what appears to be Mimi and Nyami in the background of the song loading screen from pop'n music 4 shows them with tails.
• Nyami was added to Super Bomberman R as "Nyami Bomber" on September 19th, 2018 as an unlockable character.
  • This marks her first appearance in an overseas release since pop'n music on the Wii in 2009. It also marks the first time she's been voiced with full English dialogue.
• Nyami and Mimi are always used interchangeably in songs — playing as Nyami for one of her songs will change the character to Mimi, and vice versa.
  • The only non-TV/Anime song this doesn't apply to is J-RAP.
  • Mimi is used as the default character for songs more often than Nyami.
• In her first appearance in pop'n music Nyami only had four fingers.
